08.05.22 - Team and Phases
Got this message from our Client Success leader last night (pic)…
THE BEST ⚡️
They’re doing $300-400k/mo, and will break 8-figures by the end of year. But (way way way way MORE important), they’re going to ENJOY their lives (and the business) more because we’re restructuring to simplicity…
Phase I = dependable current income.
Phase II = dependable FUTURE income.
Future income requires constraints around HOW you generate the income.
Team. Systems. Multiple touch points along the acquisition & demonstration journey. Redundancy and security protocols. Etc…
Spent an hour Tuesday with MDC clients and 45 minutes yesterday with one Phase II client in particular, about the structure you need to “scale” consulting without it consuming you.
Proof that my posts and concepts around “slower is better” and “quality over everything” — isn’t a lack of ABILITY to scale quickly, but moreso a CHOICE, to keep something enjoyable for the long haul.
In Phase II, we get into some team concepts that I learned going from 0 team to 200 team in 36 months…
What I’m doing differently this round. And how to create in-house structures that don’t break until about $100M/year.
Types of delegation.
ORG chart & OKRs.
Compensation & why profit-share usually sucks.
Anywhoo- very good and very valuable…
At the November event I’ll be sharing some more details around our org chart/hiring/meeting cadence etc so if you WANT to build something that involves team that’ll be a good event to attend.
(P.S. If you think you’d like to attend the November event, one of the best ways to do it is to register for the AUGUST EVENT end of this month… you can come in person or attend virtually - more details here)
The only thing that will make “size” and “speed” ENJOYABLE is team. But all things in proper sequence…
Current income first.
Bulletproof, rock solid, dependable and predictable CURRENT income.
Future income second.
The phases are infallible… I’ve stress tested them with 4,000 personal clients an 150,000 customers.
Each consulting/coaching/information model follows a repeatable series of activities that must range from start up to harvest (check welcome post for more detail around all 4 phases).
In the very first “welcome issue” of the Consulting Memo we go into detail about these phases, how to know where you’re at, and what specifically you need to focus on to tip into the next phase.
If you’re not subscribed, HIGHLY recommend 🙂
No matter what phase or sequence you’re at, it’s an AMAZING time to be in business, to be of SERVICE, and to be building something. Whether big or small, building is the game.
Thanks for being here!
